Marisa Angelillo
Business Skills Trainer
I have been working in, or for, private, corporate and not-for-profit organisations for over 25 years. As a young, fresh-faced graduate trainee I joined a high-growth start-up, CPP, and cut my teeth on some really interesting projects. That start-up is now a multi-national, global success. I really enjoyed helping to recruit, train and retain some excellent members of staff. I was highly commended by the Chief Executive, Hamish Ogston, for always managing to make the right recruitment decisions and for building high performance teams. I have written a special report, ‘Recruit the right person, first time every time,’ which is available on request via InterCHANGE People Development.
From CPP I went on to work as a personnel manager for a city law firm. I was responsible for large teams and, with the help of supervisors, team leaders and senior supervisors that reported to me, really enjoyed the challenge of getting the best out of people and managing the day to day surprises that they bring! In 1998 I joined Aztec, a Training and Enterprise Council, as a consultant to organisations of all sizes and sectors specializing in strategic people management. Aztec merged with Business Link and Business Link required all its advisors to have a good, generalist knowledge of all aspects of business, and so my love of providing a holistic service was born.
I get tremendous satisfaction from the success my clients achieve and really enjoy working closely with them, helping them to grow and provide solutions to their business and people problems. More recently, in my role as an InterCHANGE Associate, I have worked with Mosaic, part of the Prince’s Trust network of charities, training volunteer mentors from a variety of backgrounds to work with young people and ex-offenders. Mosaic attracts mentors from all walks of life from students to senior leaders and I have delivered the training to executives in KPMG, EY, DLA Piper, Rothschild and other blue chip organisations. I have a reputation of being a strong, dependable trainer who has an ability to understand exactly what is required and provide relevant, engaging training that appeals to the many different mentors that come forward. The feedback I receive is consistently very good. I make the learning fun and am able to relate relevant theories to real-life situations.
